Newsweek magazine in its latest edition has reported that a porn star named Kim Holland and a producer entered a church when it was empty and climbed into the confession box and shot a pornographic film. The church was open and the incident took place in the canton of Tilburg. The venue was St Josephs Catholic church, which is more than 300 years old.
The incident came to light when a porn film surfaced on Dutch porn site and later the actress Kim posted it on her web page. This led the priest of the Church to approach the authorities with his complaint and he prayed for
action against the star and producer. The prosecutor examined the case but dismissed the charge as no act in violation of law has been committed. The prosecutor pointed out that the Blasphemy law had been repealed in 2012 and as such there was no law on which he could arraign the culprits. He could also not
charge them with trespass as the Church is an open place and even its doors are not locked. He mentioned that having sex and filming it inside a church was bad, but no law was contravened. He was not ready to prosecute the porn star or the producer. The priest conducted a special Sunday Mass to cleanse the Church of the desecration, but he was angry that no action was taken. He felt the result of such a decision could be bad and anybody can do such acts inside a town hall or a restaurant.
The star Kim Holland, however, apologised for the act and removed it from her website. Nothing is known about the other players involved including the producer.
