Charlottesville is a name that is now the talk of the world. It is here that violent clashes between the far right like members of the KKK clashed with the liberal left. What for? the rightists wanted to preserve the symbols of White supremacy and the left was hell-bent on not letting them. So clashes erupted and one died and at least a score are injured. These clashes are the symbol of America now and sadly the far right and white supremacists chanting slogans along with the swastika- symbol of Nazi Germany was not an endearing sight.
The swastika is responsible for a whole
lot of atrocities on the people in Germany. Hitler believed in the superiority of the German race and considered Jews, Slavs and others like mentally retarded as subhumans and they were to be executed; they had no life to live. So he carried out his diabolical plan and 6 million were killed; some shot, some gassed and some just allowed to die of hunger.It is sad that in America the swastika has found a home and the extreme right wing and white supremacists have taken it as their symbol. I wonder whether they know what it stands for? In addition, the President Donald Trump has let everybody down by sitting on the fence and almost supporting the far-right. It's all very terrible and not something that is American : a country born of idealism and freedom.
