Virat Kohli is India's best batsman of this decade and perhaps of this century. Comparisons are always odious, but Kohli who is the Indian test cricket teams captain is on par if not a notch ahead, of Sachin Tendulkar, who had a poor run as captain. In the third test against Sri Lanka being played at Delhi at the Ferozshah Kotla Kohli hit 156 not out. In the process, he became the first test captain in cricket history to hit 3 consecutive test hundreds in test matches. Kohli had hit a century and a double century in the earlier two tests as

well at Calcutta and Nagpur.

This was Kohli's 20th test century, not a mean achievement and looks good to hit another twenty more.

The Indian skipper also crossed 5000 runs in test cricket as India reached 371 for 4 on the first day. The Lankans must be sore with Kohli who treats their bowlers with disdain. The Indian captain entered with two top batsmen back in the pavilion and along with the other opener put on a double century partnership. The Indian captain has brought a refreshing style and elan to the game and as captain is prepared to take risks.

Many commentators have compared Kohli's style of batting to the great Viv Richards, which by itself is a great credit. The Indian skipper has brought new prestige and name to India with his batting prowess.
