The US presidential swearing is akin to the coronation of a king or queen where monarchy reigns. The US president has a fond place in the heart of the American people and this is reflected in the ceremonies that take place before he is sworn in. This time the ceremonies were conducted for Donald Trump who was sworn in as the 45th president of the USA.
The president-elect took his oath of office on the Bible which was held by his wife. he used the same Bible which was used by Abraham Lincoln. After being sworn in, the evening was the high point
known as the inaugural ball. The president and his wife were the first as per tradition to enter the dance floor. As is the custom in the USA and the importance of the military the dance was a salute to the US Armed Services at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Members of the armed forces holding senior ranks danced along with the presidential couple. The president of the USA is also the supreme commander or CinC of the armed forces i.e, Army, marines, Navy, Airforce and coast guard.Donald Trump is a reality star and showman and he donned a dark suit with a black tie. His wife wore a knee slit white dress designed by Herve Pierre from New York. He is a relatively unknown designer but now since he has designed the dress of the president's wife one is likely to
hear more about him in the years to come.Donald and Melanie led the dancers and were joined by the Vice-president and his wife Pence. It was followed by his son-in-law and daughter Ivanka joining the presidential couple on the floor. The way things are going the son in law may have a big say in the administration and is a close advisor to Trump. Ivanka has her own brand name and who knows that she could in the years to come be the first woman president of the USA. Frankly, Hillary didn't stand a chance as she was constrained by Obama's policies which look out of place to the American far right that was decisive in propelling Donald to the chair.
The ball is over and the festivities coming to an end. It's celebration time and now comes the hard task of governance. Donald faces a hostile GOP party along with the Dems as well and Obama has done his best to limit the decision making the ability of Donald. It's a devil's plan and it will be interesting to see how Donald breaks it. The dance was easy, but not the days that will follow.
