Dubai is a land of wonders and has wondrous outlets for entertainment. The trademark item is the desert safari and the piece de resistance is the belly dance. One of the tours organized to a Bedouin camp is at Ras el Khema. This is about a 2-hour drive from Dubai in the Arabian Desert. The fare here includes whiskey, belly dancing and a drive in the desert. The best part is that one has not to come back and one can stay overnight in the desert in tents, which are air conditioned.
This is a holiday to remember and it isa boon for lovers as well as a man with a consort or wife. The tour starts with a drive through a wonderful road to the Ras el Khema. It’s a beautiful place located in the desert dunes and all around the camp are high dunes. In the center are the dance floor and all the people sit around it. Whiskey is available and after the dance, there is a barbecue dinner. Luckily only chicken is served and no beef.
The atmosphere is wonderful especially if you go in winter. The cold wind braces you and all sit around the dance floor. Male dancers regale with the local Bedouin dance and then come the girl with the bare midriff. Most are lovely
One can savor the dance to the lilting Arabian music as well sip good scotch whiskey. Good snack is all-around and after the dance one can gorge on the barbecue dinner. Nothing wonderful more after the dinner than to move in the starry sky in the desert with your love. A stint is vigorous and after that, you can retire to the tent and relive golden moments with your bride or love or consort.
At night, one can hear the sound of the desert jackal, but don’t go out or else you could be bitten. Next morning the day starts with a breakfast and the land cruiser will take you for a desert spin or the safari. One can see the camel farm en route through the dunes and its great fun. Once you get back you realize that the day and entertainment are over and its time to get back. Lilting memories of the girl dancing and good scotch whiskey remained with me. In addition, it rekindled my love for my girl who had come from America. However, all good things come to an end and so did this.
