A Us Spy In Iranian Custody For 10 Years?
Robert Levinson an ex-CIA agent disappeared in 2007 and may be in Iranian custody
Robert Levinson had his cover probably blown while on a visit to the Iranian island of Kish in the Persian Gulf. He was on a secret trip to recruit a helper.
In 2007, that's almost 10 years back an ex-secret agent of the CIA volunteered to go to the Iranian island of Kish to recruit a person for US intelligence. His cover was blown and the Iranians knew why he was on the island. He left the hotel to proceed to the airport, but he never reached the destination.Subsequently, Iranian TV which is government owned announced that the man named Bob Levinson was in custody of the Iranian security. This was the last the US and his family heard about him.Later the Iranian leadership flatly denied any knowledge of the whereabouts of the spy.
A video did emerge in 2010, which showed that Levinson was alive but after that, it has been one big blank.
Donald Trump has promised to put pressure on Iran and get it to cooperate, but the Iran state is the sworn enemy of the USA and one wonders what they will do to help out.In the meantime, the family of the CIA agent is planning to sue the Iran government for at least 400 million dollars for the disappearance of Levinson.
